I still buy CDs. Occasionally I download a single song off of iTunes like the rest of the world I live with here in the 21st century. But for the most part, I'm still a big fan of buying (yes, buying) the whole CD.
I know that the person who wrote and recorded those songs more than likely put them in a very deliberate order to be listened to. I think I owe them to listen to their little collection way they intended.
There is almost always a song or two that stand out more than the others. And once I discover those really special ones, I tend to hit repeat over and over and over.
The other night, during a 30+ minute commute home from a gig, I hit repeat for "Gracious" by Ben Howard (off of his brilliant Every Kingdom CD) for the entire drive. Had I been on a weeklong road trip, I may have stuck with that same song for the whole drive. I seriously cannot get enough of this song. It only gets better and better the more I listen to it.
I hope you agree...

I've been thinking about you! Such a pleasure to reconnect and I am shocked by the passage of time and your puppies! I have been looking for some new music to play and was thinking I was old fashioned by wanting the full cd rather than select tracks (seems like more work hunting down individual songs?) ... I too think a full cd of songs tells more of a story or a wider range of moods and experiences. I love listening to YOUR music while painting :)
Happy Spring and give those pups some love for me!
