Salvaged Vintage Jewelry!

Buying vintage jewelry off of Ebay can be hit or miss.  Sometimes, what looks great in an online photograph, doesn't look so great in real life.  But other times, once you get what you "won" in the mail, it's far better even than the pictures revealed.

Such was the case with this vintage jewelry lot I won over the weekend.  It showed up on my doorstep today, and it was a little like Christmas morning when I was a kid.
tearing into all these little packages was so thrilling!
The seller wrapped every single item so carefully, and included a little note saying she hoped she wrapped things up well enough that I didn't get stuck with any of the pins.  ( I didn't, I was careful! Thanks!) I didn't really know just how many things were going to be in there, but it was a lot!
so many salvageable vintage treasures!
It's a little hard to see when they're all photographed together.  But if you look a little closer...
pretty little vintage jewelry pieces
a few smalls, and one big enameled flower- LOVE THEM ALL
These may need a little TLC to bring them back to life, but they will soon be used to make some pretty, one-of-a-kind, repurposed vintage necklaces and bracelets.  I'll post photos soon!

The Big Reveal of The New Cut!

I know you must be on pins and needles waiting to see how it all went down with the haircut...  In case you missed my last post, I was getting really tired of my grown out, unruly mess of a head of hair, so I decided to cut it.

And I did!  Literally! I made the first cut, of many.  I only cut a little, but my friend and hairstylist, Dolly, cut a lot.  Probably about 6, maybe 7 inches, but not the 10 inches necessary to donate to Locks of Love.  Too bad.  :(

making the first cut!
and, it's off!
So here it is...
ah, that feels and looks so much better!
The great thing is, this cut requires basically no styling.  My hair has a little natural flip to it, so I just blow it dry and it's done.  It's still long enough for a ponytail, even a somewhat high pony tail, which was a nice surprise.  And I can do all sorts of braids, hairbands, hairclips, etc which is great, because I get bored and need to mix things up often.

I'm so, so, SO happy I got it cut.

Making the Cut

I've been growing out my hair for years.  Seriously, years.  And for what?
It's become an unruly mess.  I pretty much pull it into a pony tail at some point every day because it drives me crazy.
Me, this morning- PRE hair cut
So today, I'm getting it (mostly) all chopped off.  About this length:
this hair, and this face, please!
hair and face- julianne hough

Still long enough for a pony tail, but hopefully, short enough that there won't be such an intense need to put it in a pony tail!

For a girl, getting a hair cut is such a big deal.  For me, really a big deal.  I have phobias about it.  I have nightmares about accidentally cutting it shorter than I wanted.  But it's just hair.  It will grow out again, if necessary.  And I'm fond of hats!

I'll post my AFTER later today, or at least by tomorrow.  Wish me luck!

The 100 Mark at Resparkable Vintage

I've now hit the 100 mark in my Resparkable Vintage Etsy shop.  I have 100 items for sale.  Holy Guacamole, that's a LOT.  It's been a goal for a while, because I've read a few Etsy sellers say that gettting at least 100 items in your store helps a lot with your traffic.
Repurposed Vintage Assemblage Bracelets and Necklaces

I sell mainly repurposed vintage jewelry-  Beautiful things I've found while scouring the weekly estate sales, and the occasional flea markets.  I've taken some broken things apart, and found ways to use the parts that were still in great condition, mixed them with other vintage and new parts, and create something that's, well,~ resparkable!  (Hence, my shop name, Resparkable Vintage.) I aim for these one of a kind creations to be remarkable.

So if you've ever visited the shop, or ever bought anything from me, or ever asked me to make a custom order for you, THANK YOU, so much!  I'm having so much fun with this endeavor.  All parts of it.
