I've said it before, and I'll say it again today: I wasn't making great choices for the most part, in my early 20s, but as far as the choice that mattered, I made a brilliant one. I found my partner in life (and sometimes, crime) at a very early age. I chose him, and he chose me. How lucky.
I'm posting this song from the 70s, "Still The One" by Orleans. I love that although it's a happy love song, it doesn't overly sugar coat the truth of love. The opening lines are,
"We've been together since way back when, Sometimes I never want to see you again..."
And it's true! Love is sometimes like that. Especially long and lasting love. But the other parts of the song are true too...
"You're still the one that makes me laugh, Still the one that's my better half
We're still having fun, and you're still the one"
We're still having fun, and you're still the one"
Fermin and I are still totally having fun. And there is no one I'd rather spend my days with. And there is most certainly, no one who can better scratch my itch!! Ha.
Anyway, Happy Anniversary to US. 20 years. And we're still having fun!
