What is your favorite Mexican food restaurant?

I have a friend that grew up in Michigan and she told me growing up she always thought Mexican Food was like the food at Taco Bell. OH MY. I guess that's one great thing about living in Dallas...Lots of great Mexican food restaurants!!!

Everyone has their own favorite place- what's yours?

Lately, one of my favorites is Mariano's...it's a block from my house, it's got briscuit tacos, and they give you a hole punching card and once you get punched for M-A-R-I-A-N-O-'-S you get a free entree. And I like sitting on their patio. And their chips are thin and their hot sauce isn't too spicey. And they have somehow found all the gay Mexican waiters of Dallas and put them in that location!!! OLE!

Got to be Javier's on Cole. Just about anything on the menu there. Yummy. After that, either Primo's on McKinney for their chicken chili rellenos and finally Sol's Cantina at Mockingbird and Abrams for their turkey tacos and a mexican martini. To die for.

I do love me some Javier's, but my favorite, hands down, has got to be Mia's on Lemmon.

I'll second Primo's. Is there any better people-watching in Dallas? My husband and I spent too much time there when we lived in Uptown.

Now that we've moved to the suburbs, our favorite is Ana Mia's in Coppell. The Chicken Cancun is so flavorful and healthy, and there margaritas are nice and strong.

Ok it seems a bit trite, but I understand that eating Mexican food can sometimes be a burning question - or emotion at least.

Not really my favorite, but certainly a tasty oddity is the super burrito with the crispy potato bit at Taco Bueno!

It used to be El Tio, but now I don't have one. :-) Sadness.

    I'm not a huge Mex food fan - but I do like Javier's. : )

Sol's Tacos in Deep Ellum is also fun!

    I'm also a Gloria's fan (although that's not really Tex-Mex)

    Enjoy!

    Hi there,
My favorite for the past 20 years has been Mercado Jaurez on Northwest Highway on the way out to the airport. They have wonderful cabbrito (goat, probabaly spelled wrong)they have real mesquite grilling and all of their food is great. While I was looking up the spelling I found a reference to one of their commercials, it gave me a laugh, called Girl Farting. Take a look!

Ojeada's has been my favorite since they opened in 1968 or 1969. The original - a place so tiny you had to wait in line outside - was on the corner of Maple and Lucas but they moved a few blocks north years ago. The generation that runs it now worked after school and on weekends for Mama and Papa Ojeda. It probably isn't even the best Tex-Mex in town but I still love it.

Back in the day, I would have said Herrera's on Maple or Los Voqueros in the hP Village. I also agree, Primo's and Javier's are supurb. Right now, I like Ciudad & Aka y Aya for Chile Relleno that's to die for. Matt's in Lakewood for the Queso. Mmmmmmm.
