What is your musical guilty pleasure?
For me that would have to be Hall and Oates. I bought their "Greatest Hits" cd a few years ago when my brother and I were in Maui. We had a cd player in our jeep, but no cds. We agreed we each needed to buy a cd we didn't already own, but that we could sing along to. Oddly, Hall and Oates popped into my head. We walked into WalMart and there it was, a double cd of their greatest hits, on sale for $10.
Initially I thought we'd just laugh at the cheesiness. And we did. But the more we listened to Daryl, the more of a genius we realized he was. WHAT a voice! And such catchy songs. "She's Gone", "You Make My Dreams Come True", "Maneater", "Sara Smile", and the list just goes on and on and on. Now I don't just think they're cheesy. I LOVE them. And not just the old stuff. They have new stuff, and it's good too. Daryl Rocks. He is ALL the talent.
We went and saw them in concert not too long ago at Nokia- Daryl has a huge mane of hair and still sounds great and he's right around 60 years old! He LOVES to sing. After singing certain songs he'd say "Man! That sounded good!" And he was so right...

Hmmm... Hall&Oates. Good one, Kerri! I have to admit that my list of musical "guilt" is long and cheesy. I'm not sure I can limit myself to just one, soooo...
I love Survivor's Greatest Hits (the band, not the tv show!). All the songs are great except for that silly Eye of the Tiger song that they wrote for Rocky III.
I also love Sheena Easton. Check out her greatest hits. How can you not love Morning Train?
But I have to say that my biggest musical guilty pleasure is a genre, not a specific artist. This is very difficult for a manly man such as myself to admit, but I really secretly love musical theatre. Rogers&Hammerstein, Lerner&Lowe, Sondheim, Webber, doesn't matter. I love them all.
Whew! I feel better now that I got that off my chest.

My music guilty pleasure is Neal Diamond.... And, that was long before I got a chance to see him live at AAC last year. From the looks and ages of the sold out crowd, i'm not alone.
C'mon.... Money talks.....

There's a few really lame pop songs that I like...Brittney Spears "Toxic", some boy band that sang "Until You're Back Here" (actually, I have no idea what the title is, but that's what they sing during the main part of the song), and currently I like the song they play at the end of American Idol when they send someone home called "Bad Day"....

Couldn't agree more about Hall and Oates. Another one for me is Barry Manilow. While I'm being completely honest here, I'll just go ahead and say it... Copacabana might even be one of my top 10 all-time favorite songs.
