Peacock Love

The other morning, rather than going for my usual run, I decided to instead go walking in a nearby connecting neighborhood.  I brought my camera with me, because I knew there was a good possibility I'd see something like this:

I got to talk with one of the lucky people that live on this street~

This is his yard~

And here is the King of the Peacocks~

The man told me that this particular look is the peacock's mating call to the females.  I'm pretty sure he liked me a lot because he just stood there, posing for me, for as long as I had my camera out.  Even though it was windy, and a little difficult to look so handsome, he endured...for me!

And now, we are in love...

Have a great weekend, Everybody!

Gorgeous! I lived with peacocks & peahens for awhile when I was a teenager. They're so pretty, but boy do they have a loud call. That part's not so lovely to hear before you're totally awake in the morning. :)

Still, I'd put up with the sound to have them strutting around the neighborhood like that.

Yes, you know the guy I talked to mentioned how loud they can be, and lots of times it's uber early in the morning. He also said sometimes the white King one blocks his walk way and doesn't really allow anyone on it. He's kind of bossy.

But yes, I'd put up with those things too if I could have something so beautiful in my yard!

Gorgeous!! You're so lucky to see these on your walks. I get to see squirrels and the occasional bunny. They're cute and all, but nothing like this!

Great pics!

LOL! Gorgeous pictures, but it brought a flashback of me at 21...being chased through the Cincinnati Zoo by an amorous peacock. Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "Shake Your Tail Feather". LOL!!
